Chocolate Almond Toffee Bars

This is one of my very favourite treats! The combination of chocolate, almonds and sweetened condensed milk is to die for. I’ve made these bars a number of times, as my family and I really love them. They are a perfect little sweet bite to have with your tea or coffee in the evening. They are pretty addictive though, so sometimes one perfect sweet little bit ends up being ten perfect sweet little bites. You’ve been warned! These squares freeze really well. I am definitely going to be making a batch to freeze to bring out at Christmas time for when guests drop by.

Ingredients
  • 1 and ½ cup Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Skor Bar Bits, (approx 3 bars)
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Almonds, sliced
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk, (9.5 oz or 300ml can)

Method

1. Pre-heat oven to 350’F.

2. Grease and line 8 inch square pan with parchment paper (so paper hangs over the side of the pan)

3. Stir graham crumbs and salt in a bowl. Stir in melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of the pan.

4. Sprinkle the score bits, almonds and chocolate chips over the crumbs.

5. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the whole dish.

6. Bake 25 to 30 minutes (or until golden brown and edges bubbling)

7. Chill for 4 hours; then cut into squares.

These sound like the most perfect treat for when guests come over. And they’re made of Skors; Matt will love them.

PS – this is me, Liz, I know it doesn’t say my name on my profile just my wordpress blog. :)
